Help checking a radio control controller (for a hobby car or plane) is working by using a oscilloscope?
I have connected the ariel from a radio control controller to a oscilloscope and ground to the negative terminal on the battery. There is a signal when I connect but nothing changes when I move the controls. What should I be looking for? Should the amplitude increase dramatically or is there something else to look for? The controller is a A.M. one.

I don’t know the frequency of your remote but usually is 27 MHZ.You must first set the oscilloscope for range and V/div .For range use 1 or 0.5 microsecond and 1 or 2 V/div and you will be able to see the carrier.For modulation put the range to 1 millisecond.
