Radio Controlled Car Article Snippets:

Making the right choice for your first remote control airplane can spell the difference between developing a life-long passion for RC aviation and getting frustrated early on or giving up on the sport/hobby altogether. There are quite a few variables to consider before you purchase your first aircraft, two of the most important being whether to go with electric or gas-powered, Ready to Fly or Almost Ready to Fly models. Read on to learn which kinds are best for your interests, personality-type and pocketbook.
If you’re new to remote control airplanes, the right choice of RC plane is very important to your early flying success and satisfaction. Trying to learn on a fast and hard-to-control model is not a good idea and could quickly turn you off on the hobby. Asking yourself a few simple questions will allow for an informed decision based on your interests and preferences, budget and ultimate goals, and ensure that you select a plane that’s right for you.
For beginners, I recommend an electric RC plane–one that’s not too fast or complex and has stable flying characteristics–but whether you go with a Ready to Fly (RTF) or Almost Ready to Fly (ARF) model depends on …

What is Nitro?
Nitro is an abbreviation for nitro-methane fuel. This mix of methyl alcohol, nitro-methane and lubricators is the energy source for “glow-fuel engines “commonly encountered in r/c boats, model airplanes, radio controlled helicopters and radio control cars.
1: selecting a Circuit, Model, Scale and Degree
First of all,we need to clarify the terms :”Circuit”, “model”, “scale” and “degree”
Circuit:This equals plainly the selection between driving cross-country or on-road. Stadium RC trucks, RC buggies and RC rally cars are configured to be driven, in off-road (usually compacted clay, sand) cart tracks with hills and bumps for leaping out. On-Road normally include pan cars, sedans, dragsters, open-wheel sprints. These types are suitable to run on carpeted indoor tracks or paved outside tracks without hills or bumps. These radio controlled cars are designed to corner sharply and deliver super high-end velocities (20-85MPH). RC Rally cars are designed to drive on both racing circuits together.
Model: The selected model will depend on the chosen circuit as described above
Scale: Scale pertains to the size of the rc vehicle in respect to it’s life-size counterpart. Sedans are commonly encountered in 1/10th scale of measurement. Evidently a 1/10 scale monster lorry will still be …

What’s the best Radio Control car or helicopter in the toy market?
..and are there any safety laws about using r/c copters or planes?

Not sure about helicopters, but I’ve done some research on gas(nitro) powered R/C trucks. The HPI Savage X is a dependable and powerful machine. It is arguably the best gas powered monster truck in its class.

I bought mine about 4 months ago and I absolutely love it. Not a single problem with it. It takes whatever abuse you can dish out.

Radio Controlled Car Article Snippets:

Have you dreamed of flying through the sky, thousands and thousands of feet above civilization or of watching the clouds whiz past you at high speeds? Well for most of us that dream will never become a reality. Not everyone is meant for a pilot’s license, but that’s okay. You have to trust me when I say there is something out there just as good. I know it may be hard for you to believe, but RC planes can be even better than the real thing. Check out my reasoning below and decide for yourself.
1. RC planes are much cheaper. Have you ever looked into the cost of owning your own plane? It’s guaranteed to run you at least $30,000. That’s absurd right? Well the cost of and RC plane can be as little as $100 for a start up kits. Quite the difference right?
2. Real airplanes are dangerous. I hope you’ve already considered this, but flying a real airplane can be extremely dangerous. You have to constantly be weary of bad weather and all of those pulls and buttons. That’s a lot of stress and pressure to be under for a simple hobby. But with an RC …

Radio Controlled Car Questions & Answers:

Help checking a radio control controller (for a hobby car or plane) is working by using a oscilloscope?
I have connected the ariel from a radio control controller to a oscilloscope and ground to the negative terminal on the battery. There is a signal when I connect but nothing changes when I move the controls. What should I be looking for? Should the amplitude increase dramatically or is there something else to look for? The controller is a A.M. one.

I don’t know the frequency of your remote but usually is 27 MHZ.You must first set the oscilloscope for range and V/div .For range use 1 or 0.5 microsecond and 1 or 2 V/div and you will be able to see the carrier. For modulation put the range to 1 millisecond.

The camera will be outputted into a headset so you can experience a first person view of driving. I am asking this for research evidence for my GCSE coursework.

Bear in mind that the camera would only be able to see in one direction (forwards), unlike drivers in real cars that are able to turn their heads and look in mirrors in order to see what’s happened to their left and right and what’s behind them.

Have you ever wanted to make your own model airplane? It may be easier than you think. Building model planes if a great hobby, and it takes a bit of patience. If you love planes, and you aren’t sure how to go about creating your own model, these simple steps can help you.
First, shop around for a model plane kit. There are many different varieties, so take a look around at your options. You can choose from commercial aircraft planes to military fighter planes. They are available in stores and online.
Second, make sure the box contains all of the parts necessary for a full completion of the model plane. Sometimes the parts are connected to each other for packing reasons. Just cut of the plastic that you don’t need. You can use sand paper to smooth off any marks from this.
Next, read all of the instructions carefully. Make sure that you understand everything. This is the most important part.
Now you can wash all of the parts in mild soap, and dry them off for painting. Then paint the parts and allow them to dry. Don’t paint over the areas that will be glued to other parts …

Is a simulator (like RealFlight) a good way to get into RC planes/helis?
I’m just wondering if a RC simulator is a good way to get into the hobby of RC planes/helis… Should I buy the ever-expensive RealFlight G3.5, FS-one, or other software instead of a model to start? I have FMS, and drive a hobby-grade RC truck.

If you want to recommend a model in your answer, go ahead!

my husband has been into R/C ever since he was a kid. He currently has 2 airplanes (but at one time had about 5 in his “fleet”) and an R/C truck.
He RAVES about the Real Flight program. It’s expensive but from what he says, well worth it.

Of course when he started flying R/C planes, there was no flight simulator. He just learned by doing. He bought a trainer, i think they are pretty cheap, and just flew. He crashed a few times, but learned fairly quickly. If you have an R/C store in your area there is usually some one there that can give begginner’s lessons for a reasonible price.
His first trainer was a Hobbico. Now he has a pretty big P-47 Thunderbolt that he built from a box of wood.
he also had a duraplane aerobat which was a cool airplane. really cheap, the body is made from a gutter downspout. (link to it below) It’s a pretty aerobatic plane, but if you plow it into the ground it’s very cheap to replace.

good luck with your hobby. It can be an expensive one!

If you have a good budget and want to be perfect in the art, then you can buy a flight simulator to practice. However, a better idea would be to seek instructions from your local RC plane club to make your hobby fruitful and learn more to fly planes that are bigger and faster. You can also practice flying by yourself as most of the RC planes nowadays are designed with newcomers in mind.
The RC simulator
The RC simulator is a channel radio control transmitter that you can connect to your home PC. It constitutes of powerful software that generates extremely powerful sounds and graphics that let you practice RC flying without worrying about crashing or harming your new RC plane. This is a very popular way of gaining mastery over the art of flying RC planes, as you get to know the art with complete safety. Also it helps you gain co-ordination and reflexes that is much needed for RC flying.
Club Instructions

What are some good Cessna RC planes that are cheap?
I only want an electric plane…. Everywhere I go they are sold out. Please to gas powered. If you find a website with free shipping that would be great.
Actually, any scaled down 3 channel electric powered mono wing airplane would suit me.
Actually gas works too

If you want a fully functional R/C plane… and you want it cheap.. Check out GWS planes on Towerhobbies.com. I don’t think they have a cessna, but I know they have some similar planes. I have flown several GWS planes, they fly well.

If you want a real scale cessna your not going to get one for cheap.. and you will be putting alot of time into it. Great Planes I think might still make one… but it wont be cheap… also house of balsa used to make a kit, but their kits are rather lacking and hard to build.

Hope this helps.

In response to the airhogs comment. Dont waste your time. If your going to go R/C get the real deal and don’t waste the money on the junk toy store products.

Yes I realize that foam planes are weak in a crash but the gws ones hold up pretty well and with a little 5 minute apoxy they are back in the air… which is alot faster than fixing a balsa plane.

There are many people, who connect flying with the term ‘freedom’. They have a reason and means, when you talk about an RC jet. It is the most ultimate machine invented in the area of RC planes. It can drive someone crazy with joy, at the speed and the overall feeling that it emanates. Ask someone, who has flown one. The experience leaves you completely astounded. You have RC jets of three different types, the Pusher jets, the electric ducted fan type and the gas turbine engine. The reason, I mentioned all three is crucial in selecting the right one, when you want to embark on flying RC jets as a hobby. RC jets are not as cheap as RC planes. So, you need to choose the right one, as you don’t want your pocket to have too many holes, right!
You could go in for a Pusher jet, if you are inexperienced and need to learn, since this jet is much slower in speed and hence can be handled by a newcomer with ease. The Air Tech jet available in the market is not only quite, but perfect in certain areas like parks, fields, games arenas, where gas jets …
