First of all, you have not provided us with enough detail on the car itself, for example, is it gas or electric? What is the make or model?

Some of the basics…for either gas/electric, you can gain speed by simply getting a bigger, stronger motor. You can also improve top speed by altering the gearing, but this is generally at the expense of your initial speed (torque).

I think by now just about everyone knows about GPS devices. Lots of people are using the technology today that once relegated to pocket protector geeks with black frame glasses. I know those of us who fish offshore would never leave home without it now, I don’t know how we ever did without it. If you are still lacking a little in the knowledge of GPS and how the system works here are a few hints to get you started.
If you haven’t ever used a GPS, a simple explanation is that it is like a live animation map that moves as you move. If you are looking for a specific location the GPS can take you there, if you don’t know where you are the GPS can tell you. It is a super cool tool to have.
The GPS tracking technology has come a long way with GPS devices available today that actually speak to you. These gadgets will now tell you when to turn, how far ahead your destination is, and even how far to the nearest gas station.
So how do you decide which specific device you need out of all the GPS systems on the market? …

does anyone know where to get replacement parts for Air Hogs RC planes?
particularly the AirHogs Dominator, I barely flew it twice, and one of the propellers snapped.

yea, ummm…. when u buy a cheap airplane likie that it will break on you, im srry but its true.. there is nothing you can do exept if you have warrenty, you can return it and go through a big cycle of hassle, but ull have a new or refurbished airplane in the end…
if you really want an airplane that will last then go to a hobbystore or go online and buy a bigger, better, airplane. if you do ull be much happier!! i have one and its great it flys well, and it sounds great too. i have a electric one by the way it cost:$120

An RC kite is pretty much what it sounds like. That is, a kite-like aircraft fitted with RC (radio control) receiver and pulled through the air with a propeller. In structure, it has a lot in common with kites and yet it is flown around like an RC plane. The man behind the concept is Mr Michael Lim from Singapore. Mr Lim was formerly a jewelry designer but now finds it hard to drag himself away from further research and development of these amazing little flying machines!
Singapore is a crowded city-state-island in South-East Asia, with an enthusiastic and growing crowd of RC kite fliers. In typical Singapore fashion, the scene is very organized with simulator training, a ranking system for fliers and scheduled events.
So what exactly can a radio controlled kite do? It can…
float around like a glider, with the motor idling
perform all the basic aerobatic maneuvers like a light aircraft
‘hang on the prop’ in hovering or very slow flight, nose high in the air
zip around pylons like the Red Bull racers
I should add, only a well-trained pilot can do all the above!
The Best RC Kites Are Made In Singapore

Radio Controlled Car Questions & Answers:

How do I make a circuit in which I can control the voltage by remote control?
I am trying to make a radio-controlled car, which can have variable speeds. For that, I want to control the voltage supplied to the car motor to be variable. I want it such that when I press a switch on the remote, the car increases the speed, while, if I press another switch, the car decreases the speed. I want the speed to be covered in 3-5 steps

I take it that the RC transmitter and receiver that you are using does not have a servo channel (continuously variable), you just have two on/off channels.
To get the control voltage you could use a digital up/down counter chip followed by a digital to analog converter. The up and down clock inputs would be connected to the 2 channel outputs. If you use a 4-bit chip, that will give you 16 speed steps, including stop.
Another way would be to use an op-amp configured as an integrator. One digital signal would cause it to ramp up, and the other to ramp down.
Once you have your control voltage you need to use it to control the motor speed. The easy way is to control the voltage across the motor using a transistor wired as an emitter-follower. That would be simple but inefficient. The best way would be to use a voltage controlled pulse-width modulating speed control circuit. You should find circuits for those on the net, try googling “model pulse width speed control”.

What separates a great RC model from the rest? The answer is how it’s constructed. Since this is the case, if you own a Traxxas, you should know that it is the genuine Traxxas parts that make your R/C car, truck, boat, etc. a cut above the average radio control device. The nuts and bolts that go into the designs ensure that anyone interested in racing will have one of the fastest and strongest built machines available on the market.
What makes Traxxas parts so great? For starters, they are unique with distinct features that have been carefully constructed to guarantee top performance. Since 1986, the company has worked hard to create innovative hobby class radio control cars that not only have high-quality component radio systems and replaceable parts, but are also fully assembled and RTR (Ready-to-Run).
The various accessories that are used in construction, especially the tires, planetary gear differential, chassis and the engine are of a superior class, which helps to make the vehicles durable, enabling them to last longer than most of the competition. There are hundreds of different components that go into the creation of a Traxxas machine. Each of these features is essential to the …

must be 7.2v and in working order i am in west yorkshire and could collect if you are will pay up to £35. thankyou

Your not going to get a Tamiya or Kyosho radio controlled car for £35,used or new or in the very extrema you could get one that is very well used…the 7.2v you quote is just the voltage of the battery used.

If you look on www.GoldStarStockists.com they have a Tamiya grass hopper for £55.. but that’s for the kit only the battery and radio control system is extra

Radio Controlled Car Article Snippets:

The attack on the Twin Towers in New York brought attention to more than just the spread of terrorism around the globe; it also showed how vulnerable our communications systems are, especially in regards to cell phones. The FCC has ordered app cellular phone companies to institute technology allowing for cell phones to be traced within 100 meters. The cellular companies for the most part have integrated the GPS technology into the actual phone itself instead of taking on the momentous task of changing and modifying their networks of towers.
Now before you get all excited about the fact that your phone may have GPS technology let me set you straight. This is not the kind that you have in your car or use on your boat when you go fishing offshore. This is exclusively for tracking where you are when you are making a call. If you are a good guy this can be great news, if you get lost or in trouble and dial 911 they can locate you. If you are a bad guy, or a terrorist, this isn’t great news for you because they can now trace your calls and find out exactly where you are …

If you are ready to take flight with an electric RC plane, but you don’t have a large field nearby to fly one, then the 4-channel Float and Land Plane might be the answer for you!
The 4-Channel Float and Land Plane has the ability to take-off and land on both land and sea. This “specially designed” plane comes with landing gear for land, or wheels, and also comes with “floats” for landing on water. So whether you have a field to fly it in, or if you are going to the lake, you can take RC fun with you. All you have to do is remove and replace the landing gear for the terrain you are planning to use it on.
This plane has excellent control and stability, making it easier to learn with than more complex, more expensive planes. It is steady in flight and very easy to master. It also is a great plane for flying at slow speed. Flying at slow speed makes it easier to fly in restricted-space and low altitude situations, so if you are flying in a small field or above a small lake, you have better control. Overall, it is an outstanding …

With it's graceful lines and delicate aerobatic maneuvers this glider offers a feast for the eyes while it soars through the sky. The Airglider offers the flyer many alternatives to experiment with the flight experience. You are encouraged to add or subtract ballast and adjust the wings to alter the flight characteristics. The kite starts with a Handstart, Rubberband (included).<td></tr></table>

Radio Controlled Car Questions & Answers:

Technical Help?? Remote control Cars!?
I am a year 10 student doing a G.C.S.E technology project at school. My project is to build a T.V remote holder with a system to find the T.V remotes if they are lost. As part of my project, i plan to embed a transmitter and receiver device from a Radio Controlled Car into my design. I want to basically replace the motor in the circuit board of the RC Car with a buzzer so that when i move the stick on the controller up, the buzzer sounds. I will then clip the circuit board of the RC Car to the back of the T.V Remote. I have to cut the circuit board down in size so that i can clip it to the back of the remote with a buzzer. Have you any ideas as to what i could do? Thank you very much for your time and help.

RC cars usually use a SERVO system to engage power to the drive motor.

Keep the servo, but exchange the motor for a Buzzer, simple, but a very expensive way of doing it.

A much cheaper way would to be to not use the (multi channel) R/C circuits from a car, but something simple like a digital, singe channel TX/RX circuit like ….

http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ModuleNo=22965&doy=15m6

advantages for Transmitter & Receiver Pair

low cost , £10 a pair
Transmit range up to 70m
Wide operating voltage (2-14V)
Easy to build and test
Available from Maplin

The TX/RX pair could run off the batteries in the remote (as it will go down to 2v)

Part VY48C

The idea of flying an RC model plane fascinates anyone, but you are worried from where to buy your plane. The first thought that comes to your mind is the cost. You may even think of giving up the hope of flying, looking at the great cost. But, today there are online shops, which offer very good bargains for your favorite model planes. The other great fear is to think you are losing money, since it is online shopping, where you deal with sellers, whom you cannot see. However, the level of technology has created systems which make it easy to happen. There are safe paying options available like Paypal, which is fool proof and you can recover your money, in case of failure to deliver.
Most online shops work on the concept of drop shipping. Drop shipping is a supply chain management, where a retailer sells goods to customers, without having to stock them. He does so, by giving order details to the wholesalers, who ship the goods directly to the customer. So, the difference between wholesaler price and the retailer price is what the retailer gets as their profit. Some shops also run their own deliveries directly to …

RC Airplanes are way cheaper than flying the real thing and just as fun Most people don’t have the money for the big boys but anyone can afford a remote control airplane, they start for less than a month of internet service in many cases.
Men, women and children are now able to fly. During the last 20 years many new airplanes have been developed and people fly planes for fun every day. Known as RC airplanes, helicopters, jets and even a flying bug, building an RC plane is now a very easy thing to do. They come in kits with assembly in under an hour depending on the model. Some come with simple snap together parts and your flying in less than an hour. It’s a great pass time, soon you will realize that it’s time to get started for yourself or family.
No instructor needed to teach you how an RC airplanes work either. By choosing the right airplane to start out with, you’ll be having fun within the day you get it.
Radio Controlled Car Questions & Answers:

Does anyone know a thing or two about Radio controlled Gas powered cars?
Im looking to buy an rc gas powered car that costs under 200

i’m curious as to whether they use unleaded gas and what the life expectancy for one of them would be.

Has anyone ever bought one of these? can you tell me from personal experience how well they perform and how long they run and where i can get one.

Im trying to find a website that can sell me a cheep (under 200) but good quality car. I have a few hobbie shops around where i live but their cars cost from 300 to 500.

can anyone help plz?

I have always used Team Associated equipment on electric and gas cars. And NO they cannot use unleaded gas they require a special nitro fuel that is like 115-125 octane. They use a lot of it, its like $13 per gallon, and if you put 87 they wouldn’t run and would trash it. I usually buy from tower hobbies but you could get it from ebay as well. My team associated electric car (does about 35 mph) is going on 30 years old with everything factory, except the motor/receiver. As for life expectancy for nitro motors, I haven’t actually found mine yet and I have had it about 3 years with give or take 5 hours per week of running it. Just make sure you break the motor in the way the guide says, otherwise you will severly kill motor life.

Go to www.raidentech.com. They are a direct importer of RC stuff and sell it way below retail. A second site is www.nitroplanes.com also an importer that sells a low prices.

Radio Controlled Car Article Snippets:

When starting out in the world of rc planes one of the decisions you need to make is what kind of plane to get. Besides what model of plane is going to be the best for a beginner we need to look at whether that model should be gas or electric powered.
For me there is no question that a beginner rc pilot should start out with an electric plane and here is why:
1. Price. Electric planes are far cheaper than gas planes. Just the motor for a gas plane can cost more than an electric plane. Then you still need the transmitter, servos, batteries, etc.
2. What’s in the box. Most beginner electric planes come with everything you need to get started flying. Plane, transmitter and batteries. Nearly all gas planes are in kit form. You have to build the plane and purchase all the parts separately. This is why they are so much more expensive.
3. You don’t have to build it. Most electric planes are made from Styrofoam or plastic and come fully assembled or need almost no assembly. You can be ready to fly just about as soon as the battery is done charging. Gas …
