my radio control car (nitro) wont start?
i ran it out of petrol so i filled it up, primed the engine but it wont start. please help

Luckily model nitro engines are very simple in design, thus easy to diagnose. It’s a 2-stroke so fuel and air combine and the nitro methane ignites with the heat of the glow plug and compression of the engine. I can give you a much more detailed explanation if you want.

1)First check the glow plug by giving it power (connect it to the glow starter, if you use an ez-start then connect the blue wire only to the glow plug) and ground it by touching the cooling head of the engine or chassis, just make sure its metal.
2)If the don’t see fuel coming out of the exhaust then either it’s being ignited or there is not enough fuel, in this case put a couple drops of fuel directly into the carburetor.
3)Check the fuel lines for any leaks while priming the engine.
4)Is there enough compression in the engine? (can you spin the flywheel easily
5)There may be a leak in the carburetor which will cause the engine to be overly lean or erratic.
6)Set your needles back to factory settings.

If you still can’t start the engine then your going to have to give me more details like if there seems to fuel getting to the engine not (is it getting stuck?), will it “try” to start?
